HSO Service Management - DYS -> Common -> Scheduling overview.

This form starts in "immediate" mode. Any re-scheduling is committed to the database on each "drop". This works fine, but doesn’t allow for "what if" scenarios to be tried out, and postpone the decision to "cancel" or "commit" to a later point in time.

To allow for this, the form now also supports a "simulation" mode.

Click the ‘Planning -> Scheduling -> Simulation button’ to start simulation, the simulation icon will be activated on the toolbar and this starts the simulation process.

To test the simulation, drag a capacity on the screen and simulate it scheduled on another date or work center. The capacity will be drawn transparent which means it is simulated (no actual data was changed and persisted to the database).

During the simulation scheduling, all requirement constraints and (simulated) capacity allocations are taken in to account.

To cancel current simulation test, click the ‘Planning -> View -> Simulation button’ again. The items you have moved must return now their original positions.

    4. To test committing the results of a simulation, click the ‘Planning -> View -> Simulation button’ again to activate the simulation process. The button icon again will change and simulation will get activated.

Test simulating a couple of capacities again and see if they get transparent; means they are simulated.

    5. Click the Planning -> View -> Validate button to test the validation of the current simulation you have done, if it doesn’t display you any errors simulation can be realized and saved:

    6. Now click the ‘Planning -> View -> Save button’ to commit your simulation. Now all the capacities you have simulated should be re-scheduled to the positions you have received in the simulation session. This process also exits the simulation mode and return to "immediate" mode.
